Hi! I'm a New Orleans-raised, Tennessee-living girl. I was raised by a line of women and men who knew how to cook and how to cook well. Being from South Louisiana, food and cooking has always been a very important part of my life, but with it came years of endless stomachaches.
After years of trial and error, I have finally found what foods and stressors trigger my IBS. I am now a Certified Nutritional Therapist and use my skills in the kitchen to create gut healthy recipes. I've gained a passion for creating food that can be had by all - whether or not you have food intolerances.
When I'm not in the kitchen, you can likely find me out hiking, camping, rock climbing, kayaking... anything outside! I was a competitive swimmer for fourteen years and a coxswain on the LSU rowing team in college. I love to make pottery, workout, do yoga, knit, travel, eat french fries, and enjoy the company of loved ones.
Most of my recipes are very simple. They are all gluten free, onion & garlic free, and mostly dairy free (with the exception of grass-fed cheese and butter). I use mostly organic ingredients, sourced locally when possible. You won't find many processed items in my recipes, as I believe nutrition and whole foods are key ingredients to a happy and healthy gut.
I studied geography and disaster science at Louisiana State University (geaux tigers!). I got a job out of school doing pretty much exactly what I studied and thought I was living the dream... but for 3.5 years I sat in a cubicle in the corporate world, spending all day dreaming up my next recipe and wishing I could just be in my kitchen instead.
